Cohasset Swim Center believes living in a coastal community that every child should learn to swim. Our swim lesson program runs four two-week sessions were classes are offered in the morning, Monday thru Friday.This program is a six-level instructional approach, which helps swimmers of all ages and abilities, develop swimming and water safety skills. It is designed to give students a positive learning experience and to be safe in, on and around the water. Our Water Safety Instructors are American Red Cross certified.
Pre-School Swim Lessons are also available in four two-week sessions. Classes are offered two days a week, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-12:30p.m.

In order to ensure that your child is always in the correct level, we ask that you sign up for ONLY ONE SESSION at a time. This will give your child the opportunity to advance when they are ready.
Swim lesson assignments will be made on a first come, first serve basis. We will do our best to accommodate your first choice. Sorry, registrations will NOT be accepted over the phone.

Pre-School Swim Lessons: Members $25, Non-members $50
Levels 1 thru 6 Swim Lessons: Members $50, Non-members: $100
All Session I class assignments will be available at the Swim Center on June 22.
Please check class assignments for possible changes. No phone calls will be made to patrons to advise of changes.
Once the CSC opens full-time for the season, members and non-members can sign-up anytime at the front desk providing that their swimmer is not already enrolled in a session. For swimmers already in a session, parents can sign-up for the next session after their swimmers last Friday class.

The prerequisite for each level is the successful demonstration of the skills from the preceding level, except for Level 1, which has no prerequisite. Each level includes training in basic water safety and helping a swimmer in distress, in addition to the skills outlined below.
Pre-School Swim Lessons: For ages 3 to 4 years and ages 4 to 5 years.
The objective of this class is to help the child feel comfortable in the water and work on skills that are age appropriate to their physical development.
Level I: Introduction to Water Skills
Prerequisite: Child must be five years of age or older.
The objective of this class is to help the child feel comfortable in the water. Skills introduced will be: water adjustment, breath control, buoyancy, entering/exiting water, front/back kicking with support, and using arm strokes for short distances. No floatation device will be used.

Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Prerequisite: (Must be able to perform level 1 skills)

Participants will cover both Lifeguard Readiness and Fitness Swimmer over
two sessions.
1. Lifeguard Readiness: For swimmers interested in a focus on Personal Water Safety and Lifeguard Readiness.
2. Fitness Swimmer: For anyone interested in competitive swimming or achieving a higher level of fitness

Is your child attending the Cohasset Recreation Department’s Playground Program and wishes to take swim lessons? — Not a problem.
Members of the Cohasset Swim Center can simply sign-up for swim lessons
Levels 1-4 thru the Cohasset Recreation Department beginning May 15th at
www.cohassetrec.com. They will get your swimmers to and from the Swim Center. Recreation Department Swim Lesson program runs all four, two-week sessions for Levels 1-4 will be offered Mondays – Fridays at 11:30-12:00. The Recreation Department will be sending out further information on May 1st and space will
be limited.
