OUR VISION

This summer, the CSC is launching an exciting new introductory youth water polo program - designed to be fun, welcoming, energetic, and skill-focused. The program will focus on the fundamentals (treading, ball handling, passing, shooting). Our goal is to establish Cohasset as a hub for youth water polo on the South Shore and help grow one of the fastest-growing water sports in the country.

OUR HEAD COACH

We are incredibly proud to introduce Alyssa Diacono, Head Coach of MIT Men’s Water Polo, as the leader of our inaugural summer program.

Originally from California, Alyssa played collegiately at San Diego State University where she served as a two-year captain and earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Honorable Mention All-American honors in both 2015 and 2016.

During her standout career, she helped lead the Aztecs to four consecutive GCC regular season titles and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016. Alyssa was also named SDSU Female Student-Athlete of the Year and was nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award in 2017.

Following college, she played professionally for:

  • The University of Western Australia Women’s Water Polo Team

  • Exiles Sports Club in Malta

Alyssa’s passion is helping grow water polo on the East Coast the same way it thrives in California. When we connected with her about launching a program in Cohasset, it immediately felt like a perfect fit!

WHO CAN JOIN

  • Boys & Girls

  • Ages 9–16

  • No prior water polo experience needed

  • Ability to comfortably swim

  • Comfort in deep water is helpful, but not required

*Depending on interest level, athletes may be divided into middle school and high school training groups.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Tuesdays

1:30 – 2:00 pm
Dryland training + water polo strategy instruction

2:00 – 3:00 pm
In-water practice

COST

$150 per child. The program fee helps support high-level coaching, instruction, equipment, and the continued growth of youth water polo at the CSC.
